Artist Biography and Statement--
Going back to my early childhood days, compositional drawing was my choice of artistic expression. In the 80's I fell in love with photography and its many possibilities. In the 90's I was exposed to black & white photography by famous artist like Ansel Adams. Among other educational subjects, I studied color and black and white photography in college. In the following years I came across the works of Michael Kenna and other giants like Weston, Atget, and Brandt. My personal style is long-exposure photography. The sense of creating art by the natural movement of air, water, and time, fascinates me. Some of my photographs have been exposed for up to 30 minutes. Lately however, I've been studying the history and works of master painters like Monet, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Cezanne. Intrigued by their painting styles, I have decided to embark in a new non-traditional form of painting. Taking this step-of-faith gives me a new creative perspective and brings many artistic challenges. However, expanding your artistic skills is always good if one is expected to grow and mature as an artist. The freedom to create allows me to see the beauty in all things, places, and people. Embracing this gift from the Creator allows me to fulfill my own personal satisfaction in life. And as a gift, I would like to share it with you. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do.
